Ordina - ahead of change

We've all been there when you want that beautiful sunlight coming through the windows but mother nature isn't your friend that day. That's when powerful flashes come in handy.

For the indoor shot, we've placed two broncolor Siros 800 S on full power on two tall light stands outside the windows to act as the sunlight. Inside we used a Softbox 120x30 as our main light for the monk standing behind the copy machine, an Octabox 150 bouncing into the white wall for an overall fill, and a small reflector with a grid and a blue gel to enhance the blue light coming from the copy machine.

One of the features I absolutely love is the WIFI feature on these lamps. It allows me to quickly adjust the power output of each flash individually from my phone or laptop. This saves LOTS of time instead of an assistant running to each light, taking it down, adjusting it, putting it back up again, seeing if it's the right power, no, taking it down again, adjusting it, putting it back up, etc. etc. etc.

I can now stand at my camera/laptop and quickly adjust the lamps to ensure they do exactly what I want.

In the outdoor fire setting, I used an Octabox 150 as my main light and a Softbox 180x30 as a soft fill. Inside the BBQ, there's a Siros 800 L with an orange gel acting as our 'fire light'. We were battling time with this shot because we only had a window of 10 minutes where the ambient light was low enough that the campfire would do its magic but it also was still enough to fill in the overall shadows of the subjects. Again here's when the WIFI option on the broncolor units came in handy for quick adjusting.

Fun shoot with a great crew!
