Testing the new broncolor Stelos outdoors felt like opening a dialogue with light itself. I wanted to go beyond illumination and reach for something closer to painting - that soft, romantic atmosphere of the German late 18th and early 19th century, when nature was both subject and spirit.

Ethiopia stands out as one of the most rewarding and challenging places I’ve ever photographed. In the Omo Valley, I was welcomed by people who were not only proud and open but also deeply rooted in their traditions. My goal was to portray them with honesty and dignity, using a controlled, portrait-style approach—even in the midst of unpredictable environments.

Creating a conceptual dance image

When I was asked to create a preview image for Jasmine Ellis Projects' upcoming dance piece, Everything That Is Wrong With Me, we didn’t have much to work with—just one dancer, no choreography yet, and only a rough idea that parachutes would play a major role in the set and costumes. The challenge was to capture the essence of the piece before it even existed.

Renowned for his ability to showcase cars in breathtaking light, Sebastian Hofmann set out to try something new. For a special shoot with Pamocars – the supercar hub by Lake Constance – he wanted to test a lighting setup that was mobile, powerful, and precise.

Capturing the essence of movement

A last-minute poster shoot for Jasmine Ellis Projects’ new dance piece, Everything that is Wrong With Me, was executed with tight timing and a clear vision. Shot in black and white with dramatic lighting using the broncolor Satos system, the session captured the dancers' raw energy and movement.
