Interior design photography

by Chris Bunjamin

Chris Bunjamin's photography masterfully captures the elements of the Indonesian mid-century-modern interior architectural design style and emphasizes the harmonious connection between tradition and modernity. His images not only show the aesthetic beauty of the rooms, but also the functionality and comfort that this style offers.

Chris Bunjamin: “ For this photo session, I was inspired by the beauty of my recent vintage audio collection and interior setup. To accentuate the clean and classic mid century modern feel, the setup that was used following broncolor lights with special effects accessories:

1. Main light: Satellite Staro (to achieve a soft sunlight)

2. Main fill light: Para 330 (for a soft but detailed/3d fill in light)

3. Spot fill-in lights: Pulsospot and Picolite, to add abit of textured lighting to the components in the shots such as audio components and furnitures.

These special effect lights definitely show the actual textures in the shot, a 3d looking photograph and a definite contrast but softness in the shot. While retaining the actual colors and textures in the vintage audio components and furniture.

The Settings on the Sinar P3 Camera with Phase One IQ3100 100 megapixels digital back was at f/11, Iso50 and 1/30. The minimum shutter speed used in order to fully accept flash is 1/60th of a second but I wanted it to be safe, so I shot at 1/30.

The free of distortion rodenstock wide angle lens used helped a lot to eliminate unwanted distortion while retaining clear colors and 3d depth in the image.”
