This project was created for an exhibition and preview on SOLAR MAGAZINE. GENESIS is about SEX, LOVE, DESIRE; LAVA, LUST, CREATION, LIFE; ASTRONOMY, LAVA, LIQUIDS and the beginning of everything.

All in a big plexi pool, light from the back and the sides filled with half way water, Phantom 4K film camera and a Hasselblad H5D mounted on a crane for a top shot. We used mainly broncolor lights to be able to shoot film and photo parallel. As it was a top shot the light had to work and to have enough depth of field. Many of the images were also shot by a Hasselblad analogue on 120 KODAK portra film.

As for the light equipment with broncolor: we used the FT system 1.6KW HMI which was our keylight.

For the backlight in the pool we used a different lamp directly through a mirror on the floor.

We didn’t want to use the lights directly under the pool due to the overheating of the plexi and also security reasons. With 3 other broncolor 800W HMI together with beauty dish and softboxes, we created different colour reflection on the people.

It worked brilliant. The light level was strong enough and all lights were easy to handle. We switched many different colour setups in a short time. All lights were also rainproof and the security system in it worked, so everyone felt very safe – even though we worked in an extremely small space.
