about Para 133 Kit without adapter

What is the difference between a Para system and a Para FT system?

With the Para system and the appropriate adapter, any HMI broncolor lamp (F200, F400, F575.800, F800, F1600) can be mounted using focusing rod F. In addition, adapters are available for broncolor flash lights and for various lamps from other suppliers.

With the Para FT System and the FT focusing rod, only an HMI FT800/ 1600 or a Tungsten 2000 (230 V) / 1000 (120 V) lamp unit with counter-reflector can be used. In contrast to HMI lamps, which can also be used as independent lights, the FT System can only be used with a Para.

What sizes of Para are available?

- Para 88 (Ø 85 cm / 34")
- Para 133 (Ø 120 cm / 47")
- Para 177 (Ø 170 cm / 77")
- Para 222 (Ø 220 cm / 87")

How does the opening mechanism of a Para work?

With four clamping levers (Para 88 and 133) or a crank handle (Para 177 and 222).

What are the four black suspension ropes supplied with the Para for?

The Para light shapers have metal eyelets on the outside of the textile cover. The supplied suspension ropes can be attached to these. They are used to attach a Para (with lamp connected via broncolor bayonet) to ceilings or ceiling rail systems.

Important:
When mounting a Para on the ceiling, it is mandatory to use the supplied broncolor safety cable (33.503.00).

These so-called suspension ropes can also be used to anchor a Para on the floor in windy conditions or on uneven surfaces (e.g. in conjunction with sandbags).

It is not just the form and size of Para that impresses, but above all their unique light quality and phenomenal light output. The Para is a parabolic reflector; it has 24 segments, covered with a high-gloss, tear-resistant textile reflector material.

Para is not a conventional light shaper, but rather an independent lighting system: various sizes of reflectors are available; the position of the lamp is always central, on the axis of the reflector; the angle influences the character of the light; the range includes three diffusers with different densities as well as honeycomb grids. No other light shaper gives bodies, faces and products so much vividness.

With the broncolor Para family, every shooting is a success. Unbelievable light variability (soft cloud or spot-like), lightweight, compact and fully compatible with broncolor and third-party flash equipment – unlimited possibilities at the highest level.

What else do you need to know about the Para system?

How to choose the right size?
If the distance to the object or the model remains in a constant ratio to the diameter, then the various Paras will also achieve very similar light characteristics. The large reflectors have a definite advantage when the uniqueness of the Para light quality is also desired at a greater distance away from the model.

Para 88
With less then 6 kg Para 88 is a lightweight with a super compact design. It is even more mobile – perfect for outdoor shootings and smaller studios. The patented opening mechanism provides the greatest ease-of-use combined with quick opening.

Para 133
This is the bigger version of the mobile Para. Thanks to its increased size the light becomes even softer. It also features the patented mechanism for quick and effortless opening and folding – an ideal companion for outdoor shootings.

Para 177
This is the smaller version of the large studio Para, yet it can still be used on location. It is particularly suitable for fashion photography. A crank handle mechanism ensures a comfortable set up. The rods are also provided with joints that allow this Para to collapse and shorten to half the usual length for transporting.

Para 222
Without doubt, Para 222 is huge and is a true eyecatcher in every large studio. Its massive diameter allows for a greater distance between the reflector and the model or product – fashion photography is where it shows its strengths. The photographer can even stand directly in front of the light source and vary the distance to the model without influencing the light or throwing a shadow. A crank handle mechanism ensures a comfortable set up. The rods are also provided with joints that allow this Para to collapse and shorten to half the usual length for transporting.

All Para reflectors are constructed of aluminum, carbon fiber or fiberglass materials resulting in the matching of lighter total weight and utmost durability.
