About Urs Recher

I was born in Basel in 1967 and even though I started professional photography quite late at the age of 22, I now spend far more than half of my life working behind the camera.

I had the pleasure of learning all about analog photography, handling large format cameras and seeing "real" silver photographs slowly appear in the developer in the lab. With the turn of the millennium, I too replaced film with chip.

Even though a technically demanding still life still gives me pleasure, my heart beats for the photography of exciting people.
Due to my years of experience in product, architecture and fashion photography, technical problems can no longer distract me and I can therefore fully concentrate on my subject while photographing.

Furthermore, I love to share my knowledge about photography and especially studio lighting during seminars and workshops with students and photographers all over the world.
