Rainbow Dress Paris

by Ludovic Baron

To celebrate the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, French photographer and photo artist Ludovic Baron created a symbolic image in collaboration with the Amsterdam Rainbow Dress. The project aims to stimulate public debate and raise awareness of the importance of inclusion and equality around the world.

Ludovic Baron: “ The Embassy of the Netherlands invited the Amsterdam Rainbow Dress Foundation to Paris. On this occasion, the photo shoot was organized with me, the artist Louïz P., Miss Trans France 2021 and ambassador of Pride House France during the Olympic Games and the Paralympics.

The photos were taken on the bridge "Pont des Arts", in front of the Paris City Hall decorated for the Olympics and in front of the "Hôtel des Invalides". These iconic locations served as the backdrop for this visual tribute to diversity and acceptance.

The main light for the huge setup was created by using a Satos 1600 J with 2 batteries and a Pulso L with the Para 133. Two Pulso L lights connected to another Satos 1600J, equipped with 30x120cm softboxes, served as edge lights to set the setup apart from the "Pont des Arts".

The “Amsterdam Rainbow Dress” is traveling around the world to start conversations about equality in different countries. The dress consists of 68 flags from countries where LGBTIQ+ people are not yet equal under the law. If a country adapts the law in favor of equality, the country's flag is replaced by a rainbow flag.
