About Agata Serge

Agata Serge 320x350 Portrait

To be completely honest, I never thought about becoming a photographer. My passion for image making started five years ago when I was expecting my child to be born. However, my love for black and white imagery was with me from early childhood. My parents noticed a talent for pencil drawing at an early age and they signed me up for all the art classes available. As a teenager, I became frustrated with the time it would take to finish larger drawings. One day I just swapped a pencil for a camera. From the perspective of time, I happily admit that shooting a final image can take much more time than drawing used to – but I love it.

Photography is something special for me. I am unable to imagine a month, a week and sometimes even a day without grabbing my camera and simply putting my thoughts out there. I feel most comfortable with shooting portraits. Meeting new people, hearing their stories and trying to show all of this in one image is a challenge, but one that I want to accept over and over again.
