Just a few weeks ago I was offered to shoot an exclusive beauty story for Models.com. This site is my go-‐to place for all fashion/beauty news and industry updates, so it was a no-brainer. I was immediately excited about this collaboration. The theme was flowers applied in an extraordinary way.

The next big step was to get a perfect model who could move well and be expressive in front of the camera to make the creative theme come alive. I’ve followed Charlotte’s work for a few years now. She has a striking look in her eyes and her body language was exactly what we needed.

For the background, I’ve used a simple canvas, which was quite a challenge to lighten. I repositioned it differently for each look. I used Broncolor Strip Softboxes (30x120cm) on each side of the canvas. By playing around with the intensity of Siros (7 out of 10) I was able to achieve the desired darkness. For the main light, I’ve used Para 88 with a diffuser located on the model’s left side. For some reason, if I have to choose a side to be lighter – I always choose the left one. I used to do it intuitively but was happy to find out later research, which shows that the left side of the human face is generally more appealing to others than the right side.

I think the editorial came out fantastic, thanks to my awesome team and associate editor at Models.com, Irene Ojo-‐Felix.
