For this particular shoot I did a setup and a concept to give the images a tender touch, which to me makes Skyler shine on the pictures and supports her natural beauty.
I wanted the light to be very soft and flattering in this shoot using the Octa 150 as the main light, the smaller Octa as a fill light and the two strip boxes either to brighten up the background or as another fill light (as you can see on the setup image).
I spent the day with :
- 1x awesome team
- 1x stunning beauty
- 2x broncolor Move Kit
- 1x broncolor Octabox 150
- 1x broncolor Octabox 75
- 2x broncolor Stripbox
- 1x Phase One Kit
I love to work with the broncolor Octas as they shape the light beautifully. On top of that, the Move Kit and the Octas are amazing to travel with because of their small pack size and little weight.
Despite the equipment size when packed, you really get the best quality you could wish for! That’s why I love these products. For this shoot we even used the Move Kit in the studio! Since the batteries are really long-lasting and strong for their size, you can easy do a studio shoot like this without having any troubles!
Even though I would recommend when shooting a lot of images on a long day, if possible, switch to the Scoro, just because it has more power, is faster and there is no need to worry about batteries. It really depends on how / what / how long / how big the setup will be / on what aperture you wanna shoot, but a lot can be handled with the Move Kit for sure.
Especially when you want to take it everywhere with you: it is the best! I never had any troubles with my Move Kits, even tough I travel a lot with them and as you probably know… They’re not always nice to your luggage at the airports!
Good to know :
When travelling with the Move Kit be aware that the batteries have to be in your carry on luggage (they are not allowed to check in!) and as well, you are only allowed a specified number of batteries – Make sure as well, you have the certificate with you, which says that the batteries are safe for flights.
As well I recommend to always remove the cover glasses from the MobiLED and take them in your carry on – Just to prevent a broken glass. At least that’s what I do.
