How to Create Light Rays

For this sport motif, we used two Pulso Spot 4 projection spots as an atmospheric backlight, plus an additional Para 177 to create an even brightening from the front.

For the background, I have built a black Molton wall, in which light slits were cut. Immediately behind the wall, I set up the two Pulso spots (with colour foils). I am a big fan of these Pulso spots because you can set very different forms of light in a targeted way. In order to intensify the light rays, we also used a fog machine.

Despite the fast movements of the athletes, I was able to perfectly freeze the motif with the Scoro 3200S and its fast flash duration.

This motif was created with a system camera and a focal length of 50mm. The shutter speed was 1/160s and the aperture was 8.
