The eggplant is laid on an acrylic diffusion panel. A black piece of paper, just a few millimetres larger than the object, is positioned precisely in between the eggplant and the acrylic table. This small black contour around the object is extended later to a complete black background in Photoshop.

The light shaper below the acrylic diffuser is a litestick, without reflector. Depending on the distance of the litestick to the table, it creates a very short or longer gradation on the diffuser. This gradation is clearly visible in the eggplant and points out it's shape.

The eggplant's green top is illuminated with a Picolite and narrow grids. It is placed very low so that no additional reflections appear.
