Chuck Bradley

Born in Willow Street Pennsylvania in the USA in 1959, Chuck Bradley has established an impressive reputation as an artist and commercial photographer in Australia over the past 27 years.

Here in Australia Bowral is the childhood home of one of the greatest cricketers to have played the game, Don Bradman. He began his career on the Bowral Oval and took the cricket world by storm until his retirement in 1948. Twenty-Five years ago next year the Bradman Museum was founded. It houses well over 10,000 cricket related items and I was recently granted unlimited access to this collection as an ‘Artist in Residence’.

At the museum I created a small studio in the public area of the museum in full view of the general public. broncolor was and important part of this process. I have used broncolor from my beginning days to create the work I’ve done over the past 27 years.

Light is all about the texture and colours it brings out in objects and by having the proper tools to create these effects, i.e. broncolor it gives me the ability to bring my vision to life. In all over seventy different narratives were created in a space of 7 weeks. I used well over four hundred different objects from the collection in the process.
