Bare bulb - the epitome of light

by Ivan Joshua Loh

Ivan Joshua Loh is a Singapore-based commercial photographer. He is the founder of FujifanBoys and also the organizer of the largest worldwide photo contest for the Fujifilm community. Ivan is known for his quirky and different approach through his lens.

Ivan Joshua Loh: “I have always loved photographing people. They certainly are the most fun, challenging, unpredictable, occasionally scary and rewarding subjects to photograph. As a photographer, light is key in all situations. No light, no picture. I have been searching for extraordinary light and I'm glad I found it 10 years ago. Better late than never. Not all lights are made equal; for broncolor - their quality of light is second to none."

In this project Ivan used two types of lighting set ups. One set up with a Unitlite equipped with para 133 and for the boxing theme Ivan decided to shoot with a bare bulb Pulso G.

The use of the bare bulb is a signature look of Ivan’s as he feels that the broncolor bare bulb gives his pictures a very unique look.

Ivan Joshua Loh: "As a photographer bare bulb represents the epitome of light. This light quality feels like the sun caressing on my model. Nothing beats having the sun with me.”

Sometimes Ivan does feel invincible with The Light.
