How to Use Flash Against Bright Sunlight: Outdoor Portrait

The aim of this recent photo shoot was to capture an environmental portraiture in bright sunlight. The shoot took place on location.

For this photo shoot I used our power pack Move 1200L in combination with our unique light shaper Mini-Satellite.

Please note that a combination of MobilLED and Mini-Satellite won’t be a possible because there is no adapter for the MobiLED. In this case I used our normal studio lamp Pulso G.

The advantages of using the Mini-Satellite outdoors are that it has got an extreme light output and an adjustable light angle. Its light is a very good intimidation of the natural sunlight.

The Mini-Satellite was responsible for a beautiful, hard and overpowering light. It was placed on the left side of the models face.
You can see a clear reflection on the helmet, which also shows how powerful this small parabolic reflector.

Second light was the sun. It illuminated the right side of the model.

Shooting with dominate sunlight and being on location doesn’t make it easy to capture your images, but the Mover power pack in combination with a strong light output reflector made all of this possible. The Move gave me the opportunity to work with 1200 J on location and the mini Satellite illuminated my point of interest perfectly.
