How to Photograph a Coffee Cups

The Para system is not only first choice to shoot people, but also for product and still- life photography.

In this shot, a Para 330 FB is used with the lamp base in the defocused position and only the rim of the Para reflects light. This rim light is far away from the camera axes and it therefore shows the object very three-dimensionally and with a lot of volume.

As a long focal length was used in this shot, the picture angle is very narrow and a Boxlite 40 was big enough to cover the entire background. The rest of the studio remains dark and does not create any unwanted reflections on the shiny cups.
