Karl Taylor is a professional photographer with over 30 years of experience and known for his precision and expert control of light.

His commercial work spans advertising, beauty, and fashion, though his roots in photojournalism give him versatility across genres. Karl believes that strong visual principles apply universally, regardless of subject.

Twelve years ago, he co-founded VisualEducation.com, gaining recognition for his clear, effective teaching style. His training is used by top universities, and he regularly consults for companies like Adobe, Hasselblad, and broncolor.

A passionate wreck diver since 1990, he also creates underwater films. Using advanced low-light cameras, Karl documents shipwrecks at depths up to 75m and reveals the ocean’s hidden history, his most recent film ‘The Hunt for Lady Olive & The German Submarine’ aired on the BBC.
