How to Shoot Beauty Photography with a Single Softbox

This Beauty-Portrait is shot with a single soft box (60 x 100cm) on a Siros S lamp. The light source is angled away from the model in order to get a light-fall-off on the right side of the picture (the left side of the model's face). The distance between the soft box and the model defines the sharpness of this fall-off.

Flag 1 protects the lens from flair and at the same time it is used to fill in the right side of the picture. Flag 2 lowers the contrast on the other side.

The brightness of the background (white paper) is simply adjusted by varying the distance.
