The atmosphere in this image is a calm and peaceful one, the image reminds of an old still life painting. The main light is an Octabox 150 coming from above left, slightly backlight in order to show the finest structures of the stem, the structure of the tablecloth and the interesting shape of the pumpkin itself.
Positioning the Octabox from above emphasises the nice shape of the pumpkin, but the centre-front of the pumpkin is still dark. The ringflash in combination with the honeycomb is used to make some fill-in. By tilting the ringflash a bit up and by using it with a honeycomb grid, the white tablecloth does not get as much light as the pumpkin itself and we get a fill-in light only in the darker parts where it is needed.
A P-70 with a honeycomb grid is illuminating the background, behind and on the lower part of the pumpkin.
This picture is shot with a medium format camera at ISO 100 and a focal length of 120 mm. The exposure time was 1/180 s and the aperture f/ 20.
