David is one of the UK’s most prolific liquid and beverage photographers, celebrated for his skill in controlling and shaping liquids to create iconic imagery for brands like Fuller’s, Baileys, and Breitling. He delights in the exploration and beauty of working with liquids, from oil to ale, earning him a reputation as a specialist in the advertising world.
David's journey to photography was unconventional. He initially trained as a graphic designer for seven years, working as a designer and art director. Inspired by a Hasselblad demonstration, he immedtely envisioned combining his creativity, design and marketing skills to deliver a unique style of photography. He spent the next three years in a studio, teaching himself lighting and developing his own signature techniques.
Today, David is renowned for his ingenious approach to shooting and compositing, creating complex, dynamic images. He uses broncolor flash lighting to freeze liquids in motion. Eight years ago, he fully transitioned to broncolor equipment, which equipped him with the lighting speed he demanded.
A perfectionist at heart, David's passion for excellence is evident in every project. He enjoys the creative process immensely and maintains a studio where he personally handles all post-production work to ensure complete seemless control over the final product.
Understanding lightning is so critically important, and having faced challenges in learning lighting himself, David now openly shares his knowledge to inspire and help others reach new heights in their photography.
