Photographing jewelry, reflective objects and precious stones has always fascinated me. The challenge of finding a suitable angle and properly showcasing my great-grandmother's jewelry was by no means small. In this post, I would like to share my experience with you.

It was only recently that I became aware of my great-grandmother's jewelry and decided to preserve it in its glory - just as my family had done for many years. But then I made the decision to photograph this precious treasure and breathe new life into it, despite more than 100 years of history.

The choice fell on a stunning necklace, set with diamonds and sapphires, which I was determined to immortalize.

I placed the necklace on two rolled up sheets of black paper and reached for my trusty Hasselblad H6D100c. I carefully searched for the perfect angle to best showcase the brilliance of the diamonds.

To best illuminate the necklace, I reached for a handmade scrim that I positioned above it.

Above it, I placed a broncolor Litos light using a giraffe to gently illuminate the scene. Additionally, I used a broncolor Senso A4 power pack with a Picolite light and projection attachment to precisely illuminate the trailer. Only with the precise adjustment capabilities of the Picolite accessories could I fully bring out the beauty of the scene.
