Awamu Moja: Fashion Photography in China

This year, Moja packed his bags and shipped his photographic equipment to China, where his reputation earned him a major promotion campaign for fashion designers Zeng Feng Fei, Hui Qin Peng and Han Futianxia, three of the most prominent Chinese designers of the moment. Curious to discover this great nation, both for its history and the new place it occupies in the world, he chose to make it his decor.

Devoting his attention to sites rich in ancient history and breath-taking beauty, such as the Xichan Temple, Xihu Park and the Moja Stones, Moja chose to draw on the legends and characters embedded in the DNA of the Chinese people, some of them differing from the generally known versions of the legends: the Butterfly Lovers, from which Shakespeare drew his inspiration for his Romeo and Juliet, or with themes that are closely related; Ye Xian, the first written version of Cinderella, from the ninth century of our era; Hou Yi, the archer who rid the earth of nine supernumerary suns and enabled humans to live in the light of a single sun.

Moja enwraps all these characters in a particular aura of light that characterizes his work and gives the spectator the impression that it emanates from them, making them forget that it is, in fact, the result of a considerable amount of refinement. As always, the range of performances of his light shapers and other broncolor soft boxes enable him to expand the range of possibilities even further.

Once again, Moja makes light his ally in revisiting the myths and ancestral traditions of China, offering to the eyes of the public snapshots of particular brilliance, at the borders of the brightest stars.

MOJA is a photographer who has gathered around him a team of professionals who are passionate about aesthetics, fashion, performing arts, graphic design and plastic arts, architecture and decoration.
